Time is a part of our life. Time goes on until the time we have runs out. Everyone certainly has the same time in a day, a week, even a year. Public figures like Rasulullah SAW, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, and other figures have the same time as us, it is 24 hours.

Have you ever felt the urge to try new things but you just don’t have the time for it? Maybe you also write down the activities that will be carried out but not everything goes according to plan. For example, New Year’s resolutions like reading a book, drawing, exercising regularly, learning a new language, or even playing music. All these things are certainly in our heads, but we never find the right time to do them.

But now I tell you, now is the time. Really, now is the time.

Let’s look at the following reviews. according to Inquirer.net, the average Indonesian spends 5 hours 12 minutes a day with his smartphone and 9 hours with other electronic devices such as tv, laptop, computer, and other electronic devices that are used as entertainment tools.

Let’s summarize the use of time just now. We have 168 hours in a week, assuming we sleep 6–8 hours a day. We spend 8 hours sleeping. then we get ready for work, college, or school for 1 hour. Then we go to make breakfast for 1 hour, and work or school for 8 hours, then eat again for 1 hour and do household chores like cleaning the house for 1 hour and try to sleep for 1 hour. it’s all 22 hours and we have 2 hours of free time. but you know what we do to pass this time.

I know, this will probably be different for everyone, but this is just an example implementation of the collected data.

So how do we manage our time more efficiently?

There are 5 pillars for time management:

Discipline

First, we must be disciplined with all the activities carried out. For example, setting the agenda, and managing what is important and what is not important to do. there are so many benefits that we can do if we are disciplined.

Setting Priority

In setting priorities, we can simply group several activities that will be carried out in the future. Analogously, we have stones, gravel, and sand. We want to put these three things in one place, which object will we put first?

Focus

Focus is the ability to take our attention from one place to another. Multitasking is a myth, in fact, we often shift focus very quickly.
When we focus, our brain makes new neural connections. The better we focus, the stronger the connections in our neural network. This will affect our impact on learning.

Capacity Planning

Capacity planning is the ability to measure how much time is needed to complete a job. We must be able to measure the capacity of our skills and how successful we are in doing the job. One of the tools that we can use to manage planning is using Google Calendars.

Agility

We may be disciplined, already good at setting priorities, also able to focus and plan well. However, when there are sudden changes we must be able to adapt to unpredictable scenarios. Strong time management also means having the ability to adapt to change.

So, those are the 5 pillars or the basis for managing the time we have today. Let’s organize the time we have so we can make better use of it.

Why still be passive when you can be active?

Hopefully by reading this post, in the next few minutes you can be more productive.
